Aiden gently pulled Angel toward the bed. He paused at the bedside though. His free hand brushed her tail around his waist, and he turned to face her.
"I love you, Angel," he said softly. "And if you hadn't been with me tonight..."
He had the feeling he would have been quite a bit less heroic. If he had even been that at all.
