Happy Birthday, Sweeeeeeeeeeeeetheart!
Twenty-first birthdays were supposed to be big things. Well, in America. In Japan, Aiden had already had his big deal birthday on his 20th. And his wee Japanese grandmother had drank him under the table. Today, however, the young Mojoworlder was trying to make everything perfect for the young lady he was going to marry.
As with all important personal holidays, Aiden made Angel breakfast in bed. Though he was a little worried about how well his present went over. And if his plans for later in the evening would leave them relatively unscathed.

The day itself caught up with her. It was her birthday, wasn't it? Well, if that didn't beat all.

He carefully sauntered over and set the tray over her lap. "Your traditional breakfast in bed. Though is it a tradition by now?"
no subject
"Ah think after three times, yeah, it's pretty traditional."

"Well, speak of the devil!" Angel laughed.
no subject
He sniffed. "Your breakfast is in the kitchen. In your dog bowl, mister."
Here's seeing if Cedric was as smart as Aiden kept claiming his puppy was.

"Think he got the message," Angel reflected.
no subject
"Hope your favorite breakfast fixin's is on your wishlist."

"Man, I overdid it!"
no subject
"You did just fine, Sugah."
no subject
"Well, let's dig in! We probably need energy before we have a lot of birthday sex. And then we have to go out later for your 21st rite of passage."
no subject
"Now that," she said, "is the best plan Ah heard all day."
no subject
"Well, some traditions are good things. My good column always has you naked."

He winked and kissed her cheek before straightening up to spear his fruit-laden waffles.

And now, breakfast. Real good, southern-fried breakfast. Aiden was so good to her.
no subject
He shrugged and tucked into his food.

no subject
"All full. For an hour or so."

Don't ask him where the Southern drawl was coming from. It might have been a reaction to a fuzzy fingertip rubbing past his belly button. Or it was a standard Aiden act of whimsy.
"Though what the energy's for is yo' call, darlin'."
no subject
"Oh, ah do declare, ah might have an idea or two. That is, ifin' you're willin' to listen."
no subject
Aiden traced a fingertip along her side.

He reached for the tray with breakfast dishes to get it off the bed.

"Mm. This is why we never plan on anything until late afternoon on important days, right?"
no subject
"Good habit, Ah reckon."

Sometimes, that particular Angel body part had a mind of its own. Or Aiden figured it expressed something Angel wasn't telling him.
no subject
She snuggled up against him. "Ah believe you mentioned plans for today?"
no subject
"So, I'm taking you out to a bar. I can't drink, but I can watch you get silly." He grinned and placed a light kiss on Angel's forehead. "And I guess I should give you a your present sometime today."

He wrapped his arms around her. "You held onto me and didn't let go is what you did."
no subject
"Well, Ah reckon Ah can keep doing that."
no subject
Aiden kissed her shoulder. "I don't feel like moving to get your present."
no subject
no subject
He was teasing. Mostly.

no subject
"Guess I should give you the best birthday gift of the day so the girls can eat my dust."
no subject
"Well... all right, Ah reckon."
no subject
He rolled over to his bedside table and pulled out a flat, thin present. He carefully rolled back.
"I. uh, made this for you." Inside was a CD of Aiden's version of some of Angel's favorite country songs.
no subject
"Well, not that Ah don't appreciate the chance to see you in chaps, Sugah, but what's this exactly?"
no subject
He pointed at the CD. "Uh, I covered some of your favorite country songs. In my style. I also loaded copies into your mp3 player."

"Either way, Sugah, you are the best thing that ever happened to me. Thank-you so much!"
